Al Murray - The Pub Landlord
Alastair James Hay "Al" Murray ,is a British comedian best known for his stand-up persona, "The Pub Landlord". This character is a stereotyped xenophobe who struck a chord with the island nation that is Great Britain.
In 2003, he was listed in The Observer as one of the 50 funniest acts in British comedy and in 2007 he was voted number sixteen on Channel 4's hundred greatest stand-ups.
It it is difficult to "quote" Al's style in a blog as much of his material flows around the incredible character he has built up, you have to see him to understand him. I do wonder where "The Pub Landlord" begins and Alistair ends. This is a video of Al on good form - having a pop at our American cousins. The crowd seem to love it for some reasons ;)
